Travis Harps' dedication to serving his community began with his enlistment in the United States Army as an infantryman. During his 15-month deployment in Eastern Baghdad, he was involved in heavy combat operations as part of the surge, serving with the 10th Mountain Infantry Division. Over the past 15 years, Travis has continued his commitment to service as a Firefighter/Paramedic and now holds the positions of EMS Director and Operations Captain. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and is set to earn his Master's in Business Administration this October. Recently, Travis joined the NWA Healthcare Coalition, recognized for his exceptional collaboration efforts following the May 26th Tornadoes. He is also an active member of the NWA Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association, a certified live-fire instructor, and regularly conducts leadership training for various fire departments.
Collectively for his service he has earned four lifesaving awards, a Combat Infantryman Badge, Iraqi Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Army Good Conduct Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Distinguished Service Award, among many other awards.
